Time to start again

Well, I've decided I am going to go ahead and let everyone read my poetry instead of just my closest friends.  Some of them are better than others and I invite anyone interested in reading them all and giving your opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of each poem. The best improvements come with knowing the problems so please let me know.  The one I am writing now probably won't be that great because I have gotten out of practice.

Friends Forever

When times get hard and rough and we know we cannot stand
We look for others to lift us up and give us a helping hand
They support us through our trials and grief
They give us comfort and relief

The seasons change and soon we find those hands now in need
We in turn take them in and return their good deed
With time this cycle of trial and debt continue to blend
And with love we start to call them friend

Through the years of service and talking bonds are made
That go far beyond the talking and giving aid
During that time we had opened our heart
Making it hard to ever part

When we lose each other the pain is all too real
The wound so deep it feels like it can't be healed
Is there no lasting joy to be found in friends?
Do these loses have no end?

Yet a voice whispers oh so quietly this is not so
There is a reason to let these feelings grow
Not only will family be with us in the end
But all who we have ever called friend

Those who we have lost for a time in this life
Whether through death, travel, or strife
Will embrace us with joy and laughter
As we all live happily ever after.
